Such out-of-the-norm changes can include death, retirement, trauma, loss of employment, acute changes in health and many more circumstances and situations. These situations are often considered a normal part of life when others experience them; but when we experience them personally, they can become consuming and can negatively impact our attitude, outlook on life and ultimately our personality. The crucial first step towards recovery is the initial phone call to my office to make an appointment. I appreciate your acknowledgment that you need help and are reaching out to say, "I'm tired of feeling this way, I want to feel better".

A change in the routines and familiarities that we have become accustomed to can be devastating . . . it often affects our entire sense of well-being. It is an emotional challenge to work through loss and grief. I will help you through the grieving and acceptance process when experiencing any of the following events . . .

  • Loss of a family member due to death-suicide.
  • Loss of a spouse or significant other due to death-suicide, separation or divorce.
  • Loss of pet - due to death, divorce or relocation.
  • Loss of career - either through job loss or retirement.
  • Loss of physical wellness or mobility - either through aging or trauma.
  • Aging and end of life issues.
  • Loss of friends or confidants - through death, moving away or conflicts.
  • Loss or change in "life-style" - often relating to financial conditions, housing, hobbies, travel, health, disasters, "empty nest" etc.
